For Pride month @bakernotabanker is going to be using cruffins to highlight different LGBTQ+ news/issues that are important to be informed about. 🏳️‍🌈The 6 to 5 🏳️‍🌈 The month of #PRIDE begins and this week we are celebrating two nations that have recently made historic legal changes for LGBTQ+ folks. 🏳️‍🌈 In a particularly tumultuous and unsafe time for queer/trans folks and other marginalized communities in Brazil, the supreme Court recently voted to make homophobia and transphobia ILLEGAL. This is an attempt to extend protections to LGBTQ+ folks in a time of extreme discrimination and violence; 420 queer people were murdered in Brazil last year alone. The motion passed with a vote of 6 to 5, after two decades of struggling to criminalize homophobia. 🏳️‍🌈 It is breaking free from a darkness; a layer of cocoa dough is laminated into the croissant pastry that serves as a base for all of our cruffins. To celebrate this sweet human rights victory, the 6 to 5 features a smooth, creamy, and luscious Doce de Leite (dulce de leche) pastry cream filling. On top is an extra pop of caramel flavour from a fluffy buttercream, supporting golden monuments of tart pineapple that have been candied in a floral syrup infused with citrus.
